Daniel Picouly (born October 21, 1948, in Villemomble, France) is a French writer known for his semi-autobiographical novels recounting his childhood in a large family of Martiniquan descent, as well as children's books. His most notable works include Le champ de personne (1995), L'enfant léopard (1999), and Le cœur à la craie (2005), for which he received the Elle Readers' Prize (1996), Prix Renaudot (1999), and Prix des Romancières (2005), respectively.
