Daniel J. Boorstin

Daniel J. Boorstin (1914-2004), an American historian, authored the acclaimed trilogy The Americans—comprising The Colonial Experience (Bancroft Prize), The National Experience (Francis Parkman Prize), and The Democratic Experience (Pulitzer Prize)—and the world history trilogy The Discoverers, The Creators, and The Seekers. He served as the 12th Librarian of the United States Congress from 1975 to 1987 and was renowned for works like The Image, which introduced the concept of pseudo-events.
