About Daniel Hall

Daniel J. Hall (born 1952) is an American poet whose first book, Hermit with Landscape, won the 1989 Yale Series of Younger Poets competition selected by James Merrill. His other notable works include Strange Relation, winner of the 1995 National Poetry Series, and Under Sleep. He has received prestigious awards such as the Whiting Award, Guggenheim Fellowship, and National Endowment for the Arts grants, and served as Writer-in-Residence at Amherst College until 2018.
