About Damien Wilkins
Damien Wilkins (born 1963) is a New Zealand novelist, short story writer, and poet, best known for his award-winning fiction. He studied at Victoria University of Wellington and earned an MFA from Washington University in St. Louis, later becoming director of the International Institute of Modern Letters at Victoria University. His notable achievements include the 1994 New Zealand Book Award for Fiction for The Miserables, the 2025 Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction for Delirious, and the 2013 Arts Foundation Laureate Award.
