About Dai Sijie

Dai Sijie (born 1954) is a Chinese-French author and filmmaker who has lived in France since 1984 and writes his novels in French. BookBrowse. His most notable work, Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress (2000), became an international bestseller translated into over 25 languages and was adapted into a film he directed; he also won the Prix Femina for Mr. Muo's Travelling Couch (2003).
