D. J. Waldie

D. J. Waldie (born 1948) is an American essayist, memoirist, cultural historian, and former Deputy City Manager of Lakewood, California. Best known for his seminal work Holy Land: A Suburban Memoir, which chronicles his upbringing in the planned suburb of Lakewood, he has authored numerous books and essays exploring Los Angeles history, politics, and suburban life, earning awards including the Whiting Award and California Book Award. djwaldie.com
