Cynan Jones (born 1975) is a Welsh novelist best known for his spare, intense short novels exploring rural life, nature, and human struggle, including The Long Dry (2006), The Dig (2014), Cove (2016), Stillicide (2019), and Pulse (2025). His work has earned the Betty Trask Award (2007), Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize (2014), Wales Book of the Year Fiction Prize (2015), and BBC National Short Story Award (2017) Royal Society of Literature, Royal Literary Fund.
