Curtis Chin is an American writer, filmmaker, and activist born in 1968 in Detroit, Michigan, to Chinese American parents, best known for his award-winning memoir Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant (2021), which recounts his experiences growing up gay and Chinese American in 1980s Detroit while working in his family's restaurant, Chung's.OutHistory, Gum Saan Journal, NBC News.
