About Cornelia Meigs

Cornelia Lynde Meigs (1884–1973) was an American writer of fiction and biography for children, best known for her Newbery Medal-winning biography Invincible Louisa: The Story of the Author of "Little Women" (1933), as well as Newbery Honor books The Windy Hill (1922), Clearing Weather (1928), and Swift Rivers (1933). She taught English at Bryn Mawr College and co-edited A Critical History of Children's Literature (1953).
