About Clifton Fadiman
Clifton Fadiman (1904-1999) was an American intellectual, author, editor, radio and television host, born in Brooklyn, New York, to Russian-Jewish immigrant parents. He worked as an editor at Simon & Schuster and The New Yorker, hosted the popular radio quiz show Information Please!, served over 50 years on the Book of the Month Club board, and authored influential nonfiction works like Lifetime Reading Plan. He received the National Book Foundation's Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters in 1993.
