About Claudia Emerson
Claudia Emerson (1957-2014) was an American poet renowned for her Pulitzer Prize-winning collection Late Wife (2005), which explores themes of loss, marriage, and renewal, along with other notable works such as Pharaoh, Pharaoh (1997), Pinion: An Elegy (2002), Figure Studies (2008), and Secure the Shadow (2012) VCU News. She served as Poet Laureate of Virginia from 2008 to 2010 and received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, Library of Congress, and National Endowment for the Arts.
