About Claude Wilkinson

Claude Wilkinson (born December 17, 1959, in Memphis, Tennessee) is an American poet, critic, essayist, and painter. He earned degrees from the University of Mississippi and the University of Memphis, served as writer-in-residence and Provost Scholar at Ole Miss, and has published several poetry collections including Joy in the Morning (2004), Marvelous Light (2018), World Without End (2020), and Soon Done with the Crosses (2023). His achievements include the 1997 Naomi Long Madgett Poetry Award for Reading the Earth, the 2000 Whiting Writers' Award, a Walter E. Dakin Fellowship, and multiple Pushcart Prize nominations.
