Clare Vanderpool

Clare Vanderpool is an American children's author from Wichita, Kansas. She won the 2011 Newbery Medal for her debut novel *Moon Over Manifest*, a Depression-era story about a girl sent to live in a small Kansas town while her father works away. She is also the author of *Navigating Early*.
