About Clare Mac Cumhaill

Clare Mac Cumhaill is an Irish philosopher, historian, and author born in June 1977. She lectures at Durham University, co-directs the Women in Parenthesis project, and is best known for her 2022 book Metaphysical Animals (co-authored with Rachael Wiseman), which was shortlisted for the National Book Critics Circle Award for Biography and won the HWA Non-Fiction Crown Award.
