Clancy Martin is a Canadian author, philosopher, and essayist born in 1967, best known for his memoir How Not to Kill Yourself: A Portrait of the Suicidal Mind (2023), a Kirkus Prize finalist, and novels such as How to Sell (2009) and Bad Sex (2015). He has authored and edited numerous philosophy books including Love and Lies and Honest Work, translated Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra, and received a Guggenheim Fellowship and the University of Missouri System's Thomas Jefferson Award.
