About Christopher Hassall
Christopher Vernon Hassall (1912-1963) was an English poet, lyricist, dramatist, librettist, actor, and biographer, best known for his long-running musical collaborations with Ivor Novello including Glamorous Night (1935) and The Dancing Years (1939), as well as acclaimed biographies of Rupert Brooke and Edward Marsh. IMDb. He won the Hawthornden Prize for his poetry collection Penthesperon (1938) and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize in 1959 for Edward Marsh: Patron of the Arts.The High Window.
