About Christian Wiman
Christian Wiman (born 1966) is an American poet, essayist, translator, and former editor of Poetry magazine (2003-2013), who was diagnosed with an incurable blood cancer in 2005 but continues as a senior lecturer at Yale Divinity School. His notable poetry collections include Every Riven Thing (2010, winner of the Commonwealth Prize), Once in the West (2014, National Book Critics Circle finalist), and The Long Home (1997, Nicholas Roerich Prize winner), alongside prose works like My Bright Abyss (2013); he has received a Guggenheim Fellowship and the Aiken Taylor Award.
