Chris McCormick (born 1987) is an American novelist and short story writer raised in California's Mojave Desert Antelope Valley, son of an Armenian mother and American father.Chris McCormick author site, Bookreporter. He is the award-winning author of the novel The Gimmicks (Harper, 2020), a New York Times Editors' Choice, and the short story collection Desert Boys (Picador, 2016), winner of the 2017 Stonewall Book Award—Barbara Gittings Literature Award.National Endowment for the Arts. He holds degrees from UC Berkeley and the University of Michigan MFA program and teaches creative writing, with recent support from a 2024 NEA Creative Writing Fellowship.
