Charlotte Armstrong

Charlotte Armstrong (1905-1969) was an American author of mystery and suspense novels, renowned as a pioneer of domestic suspense. She authored 29 novels under her name and the pseudonym Jo Valentine, along with short stories, plays, and screenplays, with notable works including the Edgar Award-winning A Dram of Poison (1956), Mischief (1951, adapted as Don't Bother to Knock starring Marilyn Monroe), and The Unsuspected (1946, film adaptation). Her achievements include the 1957 Edgar Award for Best Novel and several other Edgar nominations, cementing her legacy in the genre.
