About Charles Duguid
Charles Duguid (1884-1986) was a Scottish-born Australian medical practitioner and Aboriginal rights campaigner who authored books documenting his experiences among Indigenous Australians, including his autobiography Doctor and the Aborigines (1972), which won the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award, and No Dying Race (1963). He founded the Ernabella Mission in 1937, led organizations like the Aborigines Advancement League, and was honored with the OBE in 1971 for his advocacy work.
