Caroline Miller

Caroline Pafford Miller (1903-1992) was an American novelist born in Waycross, Georgia, best known for her Pulitzer Prize-winning debut Lamb in His Bosom (1933), which depicted the struggles of pioneers in rural south Georgia and earned her the Prix Femina Americain in 1935. A key figure in the Southern Renaissance, her authentic portrayal of wiregrass dialect and culture drew high praise, and her success inspired the discovery of Margaret Mitchell.
