Caribbean Fragoza

Carribean Fragoza is an American writer, journalist, and artist from South El Monte, California, who earned degrees from UCLA in Comparative Literature and Chicana/o Studies and an MFA in Fiction from CalArts. She is the founder and co-director of the South El Monte Art Posse (SEMAP) arts collective and co-editor of the essay collection East of East. Her debut short story collection Eat the Mouth That Feeds You (City Lights, 2021) earned her a 2023 Whiting Award.
