About Canon Adam Fox
Adam Fox (1883-1977), a British poet, priest, and academic, served as Dean of Divinity at Magdalen College, Oxford, Oxford Professor of Poetry (1938-1942), and Canon of Westminster Abbey, where he is buried in Poets' Corner; he was one of the first members of the Inklings literary group with C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. His notable works include the poem Old King Coel (1937), Plato for Pleasure (1945), and the biography Life of Dean Inge (1960), which won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.
