About C. P. Snow
Charles Percy Snow (1905-1980), an English novelist and physical chemist, is best known for his Strangers and Brothers series, including The Masters and The New Men (joint James Tait Black Memorial Prize, 1954), and his influential 1959 Rede Lecture The Two Cultures, which highlighted the divide between scientific and literary intellectuals. He held senior roles in the British Civil Service, was knighted in 1957, created Baron Snow in 1964, and received multiple Nobel Prize in Literature nominations.
