About Bruce Sterling
Bruce Sterling (born April 14, 1954) is an American science fiction author best known as a founder of the cyberpunk movement, editing the influential Mirrorshades: The Cyberpunk Anthology (1986) and co-authoring the seminal novel The Difference Engine (1990) with William Gibson. Notable works include Schismatrix (1985), Islands in the Net (1988, John W. Campbell Memorial Award winner), and Distraction (1999, Arthur C. Clarke Award winner), with Hugo Awards for his novelettes "Bicycle Repairman" (1997) and "Taklamakan" (1999) SF Awards Database.
