Berta and Elmer Hader

Berta and Elmer Hader (born 1890 and 1889, respectively; died 1976 and 1973), an American husband-and-wife duo, illustrated over 70 children's books together, writing about half, including notable works like The Big Snow, Cock-a-Doodle-Doo, and The Mighty Hunter. They won the Caldecott Medal for The Big Snow (1948) and received Caldecott Honors for Cock-a-Doodle-Doo (1940) and The Mighty Hunter (1944), establishing themselves as prominent figures in children's literature.
