About Benjamin Skinner

E. Benjamin Skinner (born 1976) is an American investigative journalist and author specializing in modern-day slavery, best known for his book A Crime So Monstrous: Face-to-Face with Modern-Day Slavery (2008), which won the 2009 Dayton Literary Peace Prize for nonfiction and a 2008 Overseas Press Club citation. Raised in Wisconsin and northern Nigeria, he has infiltrated trafficking networks worldwide and founded Transparentem to combat human rights abuses in supply chains; he was named a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year in 2008 and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2011.
