About Ben Okri

Ben Okri (born March 15, 1959) is a Nigerian-born British novelist, poet, and essayist renowned for his magical realist style depicting social and political turmoil in post-colonial Africa. His most notable work, The Famished Road (1991), won the Booker Prize, making him the youngest recipient at age 32, and forms a trilogy with Songs of Enchantment (1993) and Infinite Riches (1998); other achievements include the Commonwealth Writers' Prize, OBE (2001), and knighthood (2023).
