About Bart Moeyaert
Bart Moeyaert (born June 9, 1964, in Bruges, Belgium) is a Belgian writer best known for his children's and young adult literature, poetry, plays, and screenplays. The youngest of seven brothers, he debuted at age 19 with his autobiographical novel Duet met valse noten, which became a classic with 20 printings, numerous translations, and adaptations into theater and musical formats. He won the prestigious Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in 2019 for his oeuvre.
