About Barbara W. Tuchman
Barbara Wertheim Tuchman (1912-1989) was an acclaimed American historian and author renowned for her narrative popular histories, winning two Pulitzer Prizes for The Guns of August (1962), detailing the outset of World War I, and Stilwell and the American Experience in China (1971), a biography of General Joseph Stilwell; other notable works include A Distant Mirror and The March of Folly.
