Audrie Girdner and Anne Loftis

Audrie Girdner (1917-2001) and Anne Loftis (1922-2023), both American authors, co-wrote the acclaimed nonfiction book The Great Betrayal: The Evacuation of the Japanese-Americans During World War II (1969), which received the 1970 Anisfield-Wolf Book Award for documenting the WWII internment of Japanese Americans, a major work in civil rights history.Anisfield-Wolf, Legacy.com, OAC
