About Arthur Walworth

Arthur Clarence Walworth (1903-2005) was an American biographer and historian best known for his two-volume work Woodrow Wilson (1958), which earned the Pulitzer Prize for Biography in 1959, and Wilson and His Peacemakers (1986). His other notable books include Black Ships Off Japan (1946) on Commodore Perry's expedition and School Histories at War (1938). He worked as an editor at Houghton Mifflin and contributed to academic publishing before dedicating decades to Wilson scholarship.
