About Armand Lunel

Armand Lunel (1892–1977) was a French writer of Provençal Jewish background, best known for his novel Nicolo-Peccavi (1926), which earned him the Prix Renaudot, and for librettos to operas by Darius Milhaud including Les malheurs d'Orphée (1924) and Esther de Carpentras (1938).com He wrote extensively about Provençal Jewish culture and taught law and philosophy in Monaco.
