Anne Tyler (born October 25, 1941) is an American novelist known for her compassionate comedies of manners focusing on family and domestic life in Baltimore. House. Her most notable works include Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant (1982), The Accidental Tourist (1985), and Breathing Lessons (1988), the latter winning the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1989; she has published over 25 novels and received numerous accolades including the National Book Critics Circle Award.
