About Anne-Marie Monnet

Anne-Marie Monnet (1885–1972) was a French writer of Savoyard origin, best known for her novel Le Chemin du soleil (1945), which won the prestigious Prix Femina. Her other works include the short story collection Les Possédés de Hurtebise (1947) and Katherine Mansfield followed by Journal d'Isabelle (1960). Born in Lille and died in Cachan, she is celebrated for her depictions of Savoyard peasant life.French
