About Ann Kelley

Ann Kelley (born 17 December 1941) is a British author best known for her children's novels inspired by her late son Nathan, who lived with pulmonary atresia, including the notable works The Burying Beetle (2005, shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award) and The Bower Bird (2007, winner of the Costa Children's Book of the Year). She has also published poetry collections and photographs, and serves as an honorary teaching fellow at Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry.
