Angie Thomas

Angie Thomas is an American author from Jackson, Mississippi, whose debut novel The Hate U Give (2017) became an international bestseller and was adapted into a film. The novel, shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal, draws on Black Lives Matter activism and was inspired by the killing of Oscar Grant. Thomas is a powerful voice in contemporary young adult fiction.
