About Andreï Makine

Andreï Makine (born 1957) is a Russian-born French novelist who sought political asylum in France in 1987 and writes in French. His most notable work, Dreams of My Russian Summers (Le Testament français, 1995), was the first novel to win both the Prix Goncourt and Prix Médicis, along with the Prix Goncourt des Lycéens; he was elected to the Académie Française in 2016.
