About Anatol Lieven

Anatol Lieven (born 28 June 1960) is a British author, journalist, and policy analyst specializing in international relations, nationalism, and regional conflicts. His most notable works include Pakistan: A Hard Country (2011), America Right or Wrong: An Anatomy of American Nationalism (2004/2012), Chechnya: Tombstone of Russian Power (1998), and The Baltic Revolution (1993), the latter winning the Orwell Prize for Political Writing (1994) and the Yale University Press Governors' Award. He has held academic positions at King's College London and Georgetown University, and currently serves as a senior fellow at the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft.
