About Amy Gerstler

Amy Gerstler (born 1956) is an American poet acclaimed for her innovative collections exploring themes of redemption, suffering, mortality, and the surreal, with notable works including Bitter Angel (1990, winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award), Dearest Creature (2009, New York Times Notable Book), and Scattered at Sea (2015, longlisted for the National Book Award). She has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, edited Best American Poetry 2010, and teaches at the University of California, Irvine, while living in Los Angeles.
