About Allegra Goodman

Allegra Goodman (born 1967) is an American novelist and short story writer based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Hawaii, she earned an A.B. from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in English literature from Stanford University. She is best known for her novels exploring Jewish life and communities, including the National Book Award finalist Kaaterskill Falls, Intuition, and The Cookbook Collector, and has received awards such as the Whiting Award.
