Alexis Jenni (born April 24, 1963, in Lyon, France) is a French writer and biology teacher best known for his debut novel The French Art of War (L'Art français de la guerre), which won the prestigious 2011 Prix Goncourt. A professor of life sciences at Lycée Saint-Marc in Lyon and father of three, Jenni has since authored numerous novels, essays, and biographies, including La Conquête des îles de la Terre Ferme (2017, Prix du roman historique) and recent works like Un naturaliste sur le toit de la forêt (2024).French
