About Alan Dugan
Alan Dugan (1923-2003) was an American poet born in Brooklyn, New York, best known for his sequentially titled collections beginning with Poems (1961), which won the Yale Series of Younger Poets prize, National Book Award, and Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. His final collection, Poems Seven (2001), earned him a second National Book Award, and he received additional honors including Guggenheim and Rockefeller fellowships, Prix de Rome, and Lannan Literary Award.
